David grew up on a stud farm in Downpatrick, participating in hunting and pony club activities. He qualified as a vet from UCD in Dublin, having completed an externship working in the Dubai Equine Hospital. He started his career working at a mixed practice in South Devon – doing mainly equine and some cattle, then moving to South Gloucestershire and working in an equine and small animal mixed practice, before moving to Surrey to focus on equine work. David spent 4 years at a busy ambulatory equine only practice in Surrey where he developed his interests in ophthalmology, dentistry and lameness.  He has completed several international CPD courses in these areas and is looking to develop these aspects of the practice further. 

 

In his spare time he enjoys playing rugby, golf and horse riding.
